Sucks to be South Porcupine today, eh?
Ottawa this morning: Slightly overcast and 20.
Have a good weekend. You didn't put the snowshovel away yet, did ya? Good God, woman, it's only May 11th! Don't forget: it snowed in that area on Canada Day 2001, so much that the tractor-trailer drag races up the Sixth Avenue hill in Cochrane had to be cancelled, because the street was too slippery.

I remember one summer my American cousins came up about 10 years back to celebrate July 1st in Kapuskasing. The day before they were swimming and the next ..making a snowman . Ya have to be tough .

...tough, and a little cray-zee.

;-)

It's sunny and 24 here in The Hammer...but we're always just a couple of minutes away from a smog alert...so, Ma, at least you have beautiful, clean air to breathe.

Yep, beautiful Northeastern Ontario, where there are several things that Southerners can't relate to: Breathing air that you can't see; looking into the distance and seeing a sky that is a beautiful shade of blue, not that murky grey-brown colour; mosquitoes the size of buzzards; no-see-ums (a.k.a. black flies or sand flies) that have teeth like sabre tooth tigers; cowboy wannabes driving Chevy trucks or General Lee knock-offs who don't live in trailer parks; families of fourteen kids with 23 teeth among them; girls with big hair who really do think they're the next Shania; etc., etc.. But don't say anything against any of the people mentioned above, cuz they're all my kinfolk.

The fact that you used the word 'kinfolk' kinda scared me a little.
