18
" I wish I was eighteen again .
And going where I've never been .
But old folks and old oaks
Standing tall just pretend.
I wish I was eighteen again . "
I was 18 . It was my high school graduation prom night . My hair was as high as my spirits . My satin dress was hand sewn and turquoise like my eyes . ..my father's eyes . Fresh faced and fancy free with all my hopes and dreams inside me . Three generations of Spears'. ..my proud father and Grandmother . My grandfather used to affectionately call me " Donna Donut " . Who would have thought .

Hubba hubba!
Really ? I was a high school wall flower and had no date for the prom and had to ask someone . Where the hell were you ?
In Grade 4.
Oh shut up
How could anyone help not laugh at that? Now that was funny.
Ma you looked stunning and just for the record I was probably still in diapers when you were 18.
What was the year?
by "funny" I was referring to the dialogue between you and NGB and had nothing to do with the pic... just want to make that clear.
Well here come the innuendos ..I graduated 1969 .
...In 69 with honours, no doubt.
;-)
The years don't matter, Ma. You looked fantastic then, and you still do. You still have that 18-year-old girl's sense of fun in your smile and glint in your eye.
Thanks for sharing that picture.
By the way, I graduated high school in 1973 - the year my wife was born. Age is simply a number.
Everything else is up to us.
You are so right on that fact JB ...oh and I did graduate with honors class of '69 . ..( next ? )
Gentlemen never tell. ;)
By the way, I apologize -- I was wrong. I was in Grade 5.
Does anyone else have that Bryan Adams song "Summer of 69" going through their head? "I got my first real six-string, down at the five-and-dime..."
.."played it till my fingers bled .it was the summer of 69 .."
sorry, I was also wrong...I was but a twinkle in my fathers eye, I had not been born yet in '69. I do remember the Bryan Adams song though - does that count?
I suddenly feel so young... what about the rest of y'all?
Sure we do .That is the beauty of it ..you still feel young . See Maria , the good Lord ages our bodies but miraculously , keeps our minds and hearts at 18 . It is like little His Joke on us. The mind is the fountain of youth .
Beautiful then , more beautiful now .
