Beautiful Day

I am not a winter person . In fact , the older I get the harder it is for me to like the snow and ice . I yearn for the newness of spring and the warmth of summer . But today , I saw the beauty of a winter's day . I saw the peacefulness that only nature can bring . I saw the winter with a new born perspective .

" The woods are lovely ,dark and deep ,
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep ,
And miles to go before I sleep . "

Robert Burns .

FYI The 1st pic is my Desktop @ work now... It seriously pisses off a lot of people that I love snow so much. :-) You made my day!

Beautiful. Just like your mind.

...with apologies to Milky, the nicest winter pictures I've seen in a very, very long time.

They are beautiful, Ma, although Little Bro Dan drove down from Ottawa today, and tells me that there was more snow here than up in your area, even before the s**tload we got overnight.

Coming from Milky I feel so flattered ...maybe I have missed my calling .

I especially love the top one. I like the contrast between the green tress in the left and the white ones on the right!

The light is just perfect and helps create wonderful depth and incredible warmth!

That said... I don't care to see any more snow. Looking forward to shooting spring flowers.

I like the second picture for similar reasons that Milky described above. I'm sure that we have all met people that are very cold on the outside but once we take the time to know them we find something quite different. In people of course this is a protection from being hurt and letting folks in. Do others out there do as I have done and draw parallels to life when viewing art?

I try not to think of people as cold. If one takes the time to find out about the inner self they may find quite the opposite . Being a May baby , I like to think of a rebirthing of myself into the light of springtime ....how poetic is that ?

I'm just miffed that it took Mielke's opinion to make you feel like your photos were good, when all of the rest of us thought so, too.
What, our eyes can't see beauty? Huh?
;-P
