Karma Loves Me

Call me needy . Call me whiny . My puppy still knows me after 2 months away . I had it in my head for some reason that she would forget all about me when I was away . I heard that she would sniff my coats and whimper . She never forgot me . ...and that makes me feel sooooo good . When I was in Montreal I would stop dog owners on the street and talk about their dogs and mine . I am one of those people that every time I see a dog , I have to take a second look , note the breed , etc. Pick up dog magazines and haunt pet stores .
Once a dog person ..always a dog person .
Good to be back safe if not quite sound .

I love dogs... other people's dogs that is. Kinda the same way that certain people love kids (when they are someone else's). That would be me.

I would love to get a little dog those cute little furry white ones. But, seeing as we travel often I don't think it would be fair to the dog. My daughter who loves animals will cry like a baby when she sees a dog die in a movie (I am Legend being the most recent one we watched, where the dog died) yet it does not seem to faze her when a person passes on in the movies.

She wants to be a VETERINARIANNY as she calls it!

MARIA .. you need to get that child a dog ASAP .. I was just like that as a kid . You would be very surprised how much we can learn from our pets and how much joy they bring to your world . Traveling a lot is just an excuse ..more and more hotels accept pets and there is always kennels and pet sitters . Come on guys help me out here !!

Personally, I hate the way so many movies play with our emotions by killing a dog. I cringe when I see a dog being woven into the plot in the first half hour or so as one of the main characters of a film, because it almost always means the writer is going to kill the animal off in some horrible way, as was the case in I Am Legend. I used to get really sad when I saw a dog die in a movie. Now I just get angry.

On a lighter note, that's a beautiful picture of you and the she-dog. I was imagining a comic conversation when I first saw it, with Karma saying something like, "Okay...This is nice and everything, but you're kinda crushing my head...Could you ease up just a little? Okay, you're bending my ear, Ma. My ear? You know how they're on the sides of my head? Look, teach me to hug back and I think I might enjoy this squishing thing a little more...Is it treat time yet?"

p.s. Who could possibly forget you?

I do think that pets have so much to offer. We are gonna have to think about it.
