Hairaphy

My name is Ma and I am a shampooaholic . My latest purchase was Sunsilk liquid gold to get rid of the flats . The bright yellow bottle joins the rest of my sacred collection of shampoos for volumizing , taming , texurizing and curling . Mousses are a close second in the hair perfection game . I admit I am a sucker for hair marketing strategies . I have Pantened , Vivaed , Doved , Herbal Essenced , (highly over rated in the shower ) , Aussied , Infusiumed , Wellaed , La Couped , Hair and Maned my head hoping for something I will never have .... thick , curly hair . My daughter and my sister both have brave new haircuts . Every time I think about changing my classic Diane Keaton look into something new and different there is always somebody on the exact week of my next hair cut who will casually remark how much they like my hair . Friggin' follicles .. I have done the poodle , the Farah , the dutch boy , the too blonde , the mousey blonde , and the highlighted blonde . The last few years as I become more indecisive I am blonde , redhead and brunette . Call me schizophrenihair . So here is the question . Help Ma find a new look and win a date with one of Ottawa's most eligible bachelors to a one and half star eatery ( drinks not included ) .
What should I do with my hair ?

Duh! Who is the eligible bachelor?

Wait a minute! I'm a bachelor and live in Ottawa. Ma, are you pimpin' me again?

Your list of shampoo products just gave me serious flashbacks...

I too was a Shampoo-a-holic. And then I developed excema on my scalp. Not nice. I was Pilled and Creamed and Lotioned and Cortizoned and nothing worked.

Finally the good Dr suggested I stop shampooing... "Are you insane?" was my initial reply. He said, "just try it for a month..."

Against my better judgement I did and although the first 10 days were NARSTY.... once I got past that, my scalp cleared up and I've not shampooed since. (that was about 4 years ago) I just let the water flow over my head for a min or so and rub my hands through my hair.

Since then I've never have the greasies, or dandruff, or dull colour... lol In fact I've been asked what shampoo I use...

I know this doesn't answer your question but, well, I already gots me a man and you know ... one is enough! Besides no drinks included?!?!?!? Sorry Homo don't play that game. ;-)

But for the sake of blog kinship, I'll suggest the "Brittney" Think of it... no more expensive bills at the Salon and all that extra $$$ from the shampoo and conditioner budget can go into something more worthy, like MORE COFFEE! :-)

That is quite the hair raising story ..almost a blog within a blog . Getting buzzed and never washing is the answer to more coffee ... verrrryyy interrresssssting theory . It is nice to know that I am not the only shampooaholic ....I also have a shoe and ear ring fetish , but that is another blog .

Ma, have you done the Don King look? I think it might work on you...xo

P.S. As the owner of said curly, thick hair, it ain't all it's cracked up to be. Some days I would give anything for it to be straight, however, I have neither the patience or time for the fuss. Thank God for hairdressers...

Why the bachelor in Ottawa?

Don't you know the definition of a happily married couple?

A married man, out with another man's wife.

LMAO!

What's wrong with the gutter?

I'm glad other people have posted comments here. I was worried when I first read Ma's post, thinking she DRINKS shampoo. But that's just me...

I have a friend who's husband works at KMS hair products. These are products sold ONLY to salons (or so I am told). They are awesome. The smell of each one I have purchased is really, really something. The one I am using now smells like Sweet Oatmeal Cookies (REALLY!) I was wondering why I seem to get hungry in the shower.

I have NOT bought any store salon products in years. I love the KMS paste (I am not a big fan of mousse). The Bed Heads are also awesome shampoos.

Keep the hair-do you got it seems to work for you - or at least what I have seen in the pictures you have posted. Try a few ringlet curls one day and see how that works for ya and let us know.

Ringlets? Like Shirley Temple or Sweet Baby Jane? How pathetic would that look?
Maria's not drinking shampoo, but might be getting into the ouzo a bit too early in the day, dontcha think?

I like your hair the way it is, too - although I've only ever seen it from behind your raised middle finger in your blog photo, and in other assorted web photos you or Nat have posted, and never when you're in your just-got-up-shufflin'-around-in-the-morning-bed-head mode...and obviously never "live", because you only ever visit Bob and Milky, and never ME.
What's up with that?
Having said that, NO ONE's hair looks good in just-got-up-in-the-morning mode, and even though you're giving us the finger in your blog photo, your hair looks quite nice.
I have to agree with Maria regarding KMS products. They work very well, and smell great. I used one regularly that smelled like bananas. It was awesome.
...and I haven't been drinking anything - except maybe a little cough syrup.

Looks to me like we all have a bit of a shampoo addiction. Now if ONLY I could find one that smells like OUZO and souvlaki combined I would be all set. HA!

Next time I head out to my hairdresser I will pick up an extra shampoo for you MA... Nat can pick it up from my place (since we both live in NDG)and she can send it to her momma - after all thats what off-springs are for. no?

The Bed Heads are ohhhhhhh so yummy and I get them at a discounted price which is even more yummy.
